Rainbow fruit skewers

Eating the colours of the rainbow is a great way to get kids to eat fruit as well as a fun way to get healthy, vitamin-packed fruit into their body! Fruit skewers are simple to make allowing kids of all ages to get involved and even learn where some of their food comes from if they come along to our pick your own experience!

Ingredients

  • 8 hulled strawberries - why not pick your own on our farm!
  • 8 raspberries - why not pick your own on our farm!
  • 1 pineapple - peeled and chopped into squares
  • 8 red grapes - look for a bunch with a pinkish hue or try a sweet pink grapefruit!!
  • 8 green grapes
  • 2 kiwi fruit - peeled and chopped into bite sized segments
  • 8 tangerine segments
  • 8 blackberries - why not pick your own on our farm!
  • 16 blueberries
  • 1 pack skewers - wooden or bamboo

Instructions

  • Wash and prepare the fruit into 8 bite size pieces the fruit se.
  • Take 8 wooden skewers and thread the fruit onto each skewer in the colours of the rainbow i.e. 1 raspberry, 1 hulled strawberry, 1 chunk of peeled pineapple, 1 red-pinksh grape, 1 chunk of peeled kiwi, 1 tangerine segment, 1 blackberry and 2 blueberryie. Arrange in a rainbow shape.
