Information we collect
Details you give us directly: your name, email address, postal address and telephone number when you book an event or experience, order a hamper, join our Loyalty Programme, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us with an enquiry.
Transaction information: what you bought, where and when. Card payments are processed by our payment providers - we do not store your full card details.
Website information: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
To take and fulfil bookings, orders and enquiries, and to contact you about them.
To operate our Loyalty Programme, including awarding and redeeming rewards.
To send you news of our events, offers and seasonal openings where you have asked us to. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
To understand how our website is used so we can improve it, and to keep our site and premises secure.
Our lawful bases
Contract - where we need your information to provide something you have asked for, such as an event booking or hamper order.
Consent - for marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interests - for running and improving our business, provided this does not override your rights.
Legal obligation - where we must keep records, for example for tax and accounting.
Sharing your information
We share information only with the suppliers who help us run the farm, shop, café and website - for example our booking, payment, email and IT providers - and only what they need.
We do not sell your personal information. We will not share it with any other third party without your explicit prior consent unless we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Booking and order records are ordinarily retained for six years for accounting purposes; marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe.
Where your data is held
Your personal data is held in the UK. Where a supplier processes data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to function, and - with your consent - analytics cookies to help us understand how the site is used. You can change your cookie choices at any time in your browser settings or via our cookie banner.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; to have inaccurate information corrected; to ask us to delete it or restrict how we use it; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@canalsidefarm.co.uk or write to us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
