This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to Canalside Holdings (‘us’) or is collected from you whilst visiting our website. Our policy is compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulations as of 25th May 2018.

Your privacy is of the highest importance to us and maintaining the security of your data is a priority. We have attempted to take all reasonable steps to have physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in place to protect personal information processed through this website and any systems we use in providing services to you. We also want to be transparent about what data we collect about you, how we use it and how we protect that information.

We will never sell your personal data to other organisations and will only ever share it in appropriate, legal or exceptional circumstances.

Data Processing

Use of this website, and the processing and storage of any personal data by Canalside Holdings, will be subject to the laws of the country where the processing occurs. We chose our data processors very carefully to ensure compliance with UK-EU data protection, confidentiality and security standards.

Our Security Measures

This website uses high-level (128/256 bit) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology from one of the world leaders in security software for online transactions, Comodo. This encrypts the link between our web server and your browser, ensuring that all communication that happens remains private inc. all personal information and payment details. You can tell that our pages are secure by the ‘https:’ at the front of the www.canalsidefarm.co.uk in your browser address window and the small locked padlock which appears next to it.

Unfortunately however, no data transmission over the internet can ever be guaranteed as 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our web site, and you do so at your own risk.

Other security measures we apply across our operations include, cyber security monitoring of service providers who handle your personal data and data security awareness amongst employees.

Types Of Data & Personal Information Collected

We will only collect and process personal data about you where we have a lawful bases. Lawful bases include: consent (where you have given consent); contract (where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you e.g. delivery of the Canalside Loyalty Card programme); and for “legitimate interests”.

Where we rely on your consent to process personal data, you have the right to withdraw or decline your consent at any time and where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object. i. Electronic Newsletter Subscription & Marketing Correspondence

We currently distribute a monthly electronic newsletter and may launch similar products in the future. When you subscribe to our electronic newsletter and marketing correspondence, your first and last name and your email address is required.

We use MailChimp to provide us with email marketing services, who we treat as a third party data processor. Your name and email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use such services or until you request removal from the mailing list. You can do this through the unsubscribe link contained at the bottom of the newsletter or by requesting removal via an email to info@canalsidefarm.co.uk.

If you subscribe to our newsletters through this website your name and email address is not stored within this website’s database.

At times you may be asked for certain information so that we can customise our email marketing to suit your needs. This information is used to deliver you personalised electronic correspondence that we believe will be of interest to you.

ii. Contact forms and email links

Should you contact us using the contact form or an email link on our website, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors. The data will be collated into an email and sent directly to us over Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), which is encrypted and protected by TLS/SSL.

iii. Event booking & Payment information

When you register for an event or purchase a ticket, we will store your data on our database. This information will/may include: your personal contact information (name, email, phone number, address); the name/gender/age of any child you have requested a ticket for; any special requests e.g. food preferences/allergies or assistance needed. We collect this information to: send you the tickets you have purchased; contact you about the event; provide the event service; and cater for any specific needs you have. Such data is held only as long as necessary.

Our online payment system uses a ‘payment gateway’ which is directly connected to ‘Payment Sense’. This means that when you input card data into the payment page you are communicating directly with this merchant, who processes it directly before passing your payment onto us.

iv. Canalside Farm Loyalty Programme

When you register for our Loyalty Card Programme, we will store your data on our database. This information will include your personal contact information i.e. name, gender, date of birth, email and postal address. We collect this information: to administer the programme; for statistical analysis; market research; and sending you news about Canalside offers and promotions either by post, email, SMS or through any social network. Such data is held only as long as you are a member of the programme. You can request removal from any electronic mailing list (inc. the Canalside newsletter) through the ‘unsubscribe link ‘contained at the bottom of the email or any other communication channel by sending an email to info@canalsidefarm.co.uk.

v. Customer Surveys

From time to time, users of the website and online channels may be asked to participate in customer surveys and polls. As a part of this process you may be asked to supply personal information such as demographic information and lifestyle preferences. These surveys will be strictly voluntary and you can choose whether or not to participate and what information you wish to disclose. Such surveys provide us with important information that helps improve the services we offer customers. Your personal information, if provided, will remain confidential.

vi. Site visitation tracking and use of Cookies

In running and maintaining the website, we use cookies and other technologies (e.g. Google Analytics) to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our site through your computer or mobile device. Have a Right to Access Your Data: You are entitled to know if and what personal data we hold on you. You have the right to ask us, in writing, for a copy of any data held about you (this is known as a ‘subject access request’). A copy of any personal data we hold and a response to your request, will be sent to you as soon as possible, and not later than 1 month after your date of contact. Our website includes social media features (e.g. the Facebook “Like” button). These features may collect your IP address and which page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Payment Card Information

Information From Public Forums

Any information you submit in a blog, social network or other public forum can be read, collected, or used by us and others, including, for example, to personalise your experience on our website. You are responsible for the information you disclose in these forums and such information is not protected under this Privacy Policy.

Website Access Via Canalside Free Wifi Service

We provide a free public WiFi service in our Café to access this website and the internet. Please be aware that using WiFi in any public place can be risky as unauthorised people may try to intercept anything you are doing online

When you sign onto our Wifi service you will be asked for certain information that allows us to deliver a more personalised service to you. You can also agree for us to contact you with any marketing material (including our newsletter), however you have the ability to unsubscribe any time via an opt-out link in any electronic correspondence.
