We are a family run farm that has been growing its own produce for the past 40 years.

It was back in 1983 that we bought this small holding in Great Haywood and planted our first strawberries that spring. From the beginning we have provided soft summer fruits, kitchen vegetables and garden plants directly to businesses across the region, and also to the local community from our Farm Shop – one of Staffordshire’s first!

We have continued to grow and develop our offering to customers over the years, and have since: extended our Farm Shop (twice!); built a new Café alongside the historic Trent and Mersey Canal; developed our Pick Your Own experience to include Halloween pumpkins; established a seasonal Plant Centre in our main glasshouse; and created a programme of inspirational, educational events for all the family to enjoy.

We think we have created something special at Canalside, but don’t take our word for it, come and see for yourself!

Current Job Opportunities

Deli Manager

Full Time Role - 5 days per week, normal working day 8am-5pm.  At least one day will be a weekend day.

The Deli has been an integral part of our Farm Shop since it opened in 2010 and has been picked as a source of considerable growth to support the business’ future success – it provides high quality products from local & national suppliers – a broad selection of cheese, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pies, olives, and various other savouries. The Deli also sells some homemade items, such as its best-selling product, the Canalside Sausage Roll. The focus for the Manager is to take our Deli to the next level through hand-picked, quality, fresh products that are innovative, creative, and sought after by food lovers.

Providing excellent products with excellent customer service is our mission – all our employees are required to engage with our customers and be friendly, professional, and knowledgeable to ensure we meet our high standards. Our Deli colleagues, led by the Manager, must also adhere to our strict Food Safety standards.
