Marzipan Cake
Apple, Walnut, Sultana & Marzipan Cake. Inspired by Autumn, this cake is an eye catching centre piece which tastes as good as it looks! A perfect treat to enjoy with a warming pot of tea after a lovely canalside walk!
Ingredients
- 400 g butter
- 400 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 400 g self-raising flour
- 4 apples
- 100 g oats
- 50 g walnuts
- 50 g sultanas
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 300 g marzipan
Instructions

Cream together the butter & sugar.

Add the eggs one at a time.

Peel & grate the apples.

Add grated apples, oats, walnuts & mixed spice & mix well.

Pour the batter into an 8 inch round greased and lined cake tin.

Bake at 160 degrees for approx. 45 minutes.

Cool on a wire rack.

Once cooled roll out Marzipan and decorate as you see fit. Use food colouring to add colour to your decoration.
