Cranberry & Orange Sauce

An easy, delicious tangy homemade cranberry sauce to make any Christmas plate sing!


  • 340 g fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 orange - grated rind and juice


  • Wash and drain the cranberries.
  • Put the water and sugar in a pan.
  • Gently bring the pan to the boil, stirring till the sugar dissolves.
  • Simmer till the mixture reduces and becomes a bit syrupy.
  • Put the cranberries in the pan and simmer till all the cranberries have burst (approx 10 mins)
  • Remove from the heat & stir in the orange rind and juice.
  • Put in a bowl and allow to cool then chill in the fridge . The sauce will thicken a little as it cools.
